Research/Career Interests:
Samara uses passive acoustic monitoring to understand underwater environments and species. Her research primarily focuses on marine soundscapes and ocean noise within U.S. waters, and she works with NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service, Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory, Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, and the National Park Service to monitor and quantify ambient sound and ocean noise.
